    1. Let's make this quick. Great starting potential filled with English department intrigue, internal rivalries, and faculty secrets. Sadly, lead amateur sleuth and graduate student, Sarah Deane, became increasingly forgettable (and kind of useless) as the book continued. To be fair, she was overshadowed by her doctor/medical examiner (convenient and contrive)/high-strung professor boyfriend, Alex. And he, I should mention, was somewhat of a smart-ass at times.     2. This is part of one of my favorite mystery series. These mysteries have fun recurring characters, a spicy relationship, and good mysteries. Definitely a series to check out if you like your mysteries on the lighter side.

    3. I worked in academia for years and felt the author nailed all of the personalities. If you have ever come close to a college campus, I think you'll like this mystery.

    4. I love this entire series, but this is my favorite of them (book number 3 in the series) - something about this being set at a small New England college just has the perfect feel.
