We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines, covering the six areas of learning.

Our welcoming classrooms are set up for continuous provision, with colour stations; art and craft materials, sand and water areas and an interactive whiteboard with computers. Children can explore materials freely, experimenting with silhouettes, drawings and prints. They are also encouraged to tidy away themselves, encouraging them to become more independent.

We have a set of golden rules that all children follow in the classroom. We encourage parents to visit our classroom and take an active role in activities, for example, special snack and story sessions. This is a lovely experience for our children and parents.

Children in Early Years are also taught P.E., Music, and I.C.T., allowing them to develop skills in a wide range of areas. Several languages and signing are also taught at circle time, with the Reception children having weekly French Lessons.

We arrange three outings every year, which are always hugely enjoyed and provide children with exciting learning opportunities outside the classroom. We have recently visited Stockley Farm and Knowsley Safari Park. All classes in the school, including Kindergarten, lead whole school assemblies; this helps to build confidence and also gives children the opportunity to tell the older children about their learning experiences.

Through these six areas of learning, the children both Kindergarten and Reception have many opportunities to explore, learn and develop at their own pace and to their individual level

We hope that you will find the information we provide informative and helpful, whilst your child settles in at Forest Park School.
