Welcome to the Year 1 class page.

After being in an early years classroom, Year 1 children are now introduced to a formal classroom setting. Pupils are involved in a rich curriculum, through which they are able to develop confidence and skills by engaging in a range of exciting activities.

Children in this year group have daily literacy and mathematics lessons; in these, they are taught at their individual levels and challenged to reach their full potential. There is an emphasis on encouraging these young children to become more independent, both academically and in terms of looking after themselves and their belongings.
