Welcome to the Year 5 class page.

Year 5 is obviously an important time in a preparatory school. At Forest Park, sections of the timetable are allocated to preparing the children for their secondary school entrance examinations. At the same time, I strive to deliver a stimulating curriculum that provides pupils with many opportunities to undertake practical projects and investigational work, whilst developing their communication and problem-solving skills. Year 5 topics include the Tudors; coasts; moving toys; the Aztecs; and talking textiles. (Please refer to the Class Information Booklet for more details).

As the children approach their final year at Forest Park, they are awarded greater responsibility, both in and outside the classroom. For example, they are given the opportunity to take part in a five-day residential trip to France with the Year 6 children, as well as a geography field trip to Llandudno.
