Lyndon Longhorne a former meningitis Survivor and Paralympion GB swimmer visited school on Friday 15th November to talk to our students.
As a quadruple amputee Lyndon took time to talk to our students, talking about his journey of becoming a successful Ambassador for the UK, taking part in the Tokyo 2020 paralympics.
Despite so many set backs, injuries and not making the finals, Lyndon's positive attitude, determination, commitment and hard work, Lydon represented the UK in Tokyo.
Students were invited to look at his medals and hold the Olympic torch, which he carried through Bishop Auckland in 2012 on its 70 day journey across the UK.
Students asked Lyndon lots of questions and had lunch with him to end his visit.
Students were very inspired by his story and his positive belief... "Believe in yourself, you will achieve big things in life with the positive mental attitude that you set."
