A Visit from the Police:

Online Safety and Real-Life Consequences

This week, our secondary school welcomed two local police officers who spent the day talking with students in two separate sessions: one focused on online safety, and the other on crime and consequences.

The online safety session explored social media, gaming, and messaging, helping students understand how to stay safe online and why it’s important to think before sharing or posting.

In the crime and consequences session, the officers spoke honestly about the law and what can happen when poor choices are made. Using real-life examples, they explained how actions — even those that seem minor — can sometimes lead to serious consequences.

Both sessions were engaging and informative, giving students a clearer understanding of how their choices, both online and offline, can have a lasting impact.
