This week, our Year 8 students rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a brilliant hands-on Science lesson all about atoms, elements and compounds.

Instead of just talking about tiny particles we can’t see, students used LEGO and Molymod kits to build their own models. The classroom was full of colour, creativity and some fantastic teamwork as everyone worked together to create different combinations.

There were some great conversations taking place as students compared their ideas, tested things out and made adjustments to their models. Being able to physically build what they were learning about really helped make the lesson come to life.

It was wonderful to see so much focus, curiosity and enjoyment. Practical activities like this give our students the chance to explore learning in a way that feels accessible and engaging, helping them grow in confidence as well as knowledge.

Well done Year 8, you were fantastic scientists this week!
